For the past two years we have had the pleasure of caring for one of our beloved patients, Phyllis. At 83 years old, she is an active individual who goes to the gym on a daily basis and is an avid bowler. She was recently experiencing dry mouth due to a new medication. As a result, her teeth started to break down. As a permanent solution, we offered to restore her teeth with porcelain veneers. On Tuesday, Dr. Larijani and Tammy performed a "smile makeover" consisting of seven porcelain veneers and Zoom whitening.
Phyllis is currently in her temporary veneers and is very happy.

What happens when a patient has pain after normal business hours?
Good Morning and Happy Monday!
We hope everyone had a Happy Easter and a great weekend.
At Santa Margarita Dental Group we like to pride ourselves on the personal connection we have with our patients. One of our beloved patients called Dr. Larijani over this holiday weekend, in tears, because of tooth pain. Without hesitating, Dr. Larijani met the patient at our office early on Saturday morning and alleviated her pain, so she could enjoy the rest of her holiday weekend with her family.
We consider our office an extension of our homes, and our patients are like our family. When our patients are in pain, they are not confined to the restrictions of normal business hours or turned away on the weekends. We treat our patients with the highest standard of care. Our office is a place where dentistry becomes comfortable.
Even further, we offer 7:00am appointments to accommodate our patients with busy work schedules on Mondays and Fridays. Thank you to our patients for your continued patronage and our team wishes everyone a great start to the week.

Happy Friday Everyone!
A friendly message from Susan, our Periodontal Therapist:
My Philosophy
If the eyes are the windows to the soul, then the mouth is the internal window to the whole body.
Changes in color, tone and texture of soft tissues in the mouth are almost always a reflection of a body out of balance.
To restore health, identifying and eliminating the core cause is crucial. I am a firm believer in rejuvenating health instead of postponing symptoms.
Mind Body Approach
The human body has infinite potentials for healing itself. It has been proven that our mind can either perpetuate disease or sustain health
My role as your dental hygienist is to facilitate a healing environment utilizing the most cutting edge technology, your body and mind will do the rest.
Oral Systemic Link
Scientists have identified only 50 bacteria in the mouth as culprits to disease. Hundreds more have yet to be identified. The oral-systemic link is now recognized worldwide. Heart disease, diabetes, certain cancers, arthritis, lung, kidney and liver disease are related to chronic oral infections.
An infection in the mouth is no different than any other infection in the body. The simple act of chewing releases bacteria from the gums into the blood stream. A healthy body with an intact immune system can neutralize, filter and remove the infection, but eventually when left untreated organs start to wall off and eventually shut down.
Despite 22 years in the dental field, I continue to learn from patients I have the honor to treat.
My passion and respect for humanity continues to be the driving force of my personal and professional life. It is my intention to bring your smile back to a pristine state. As your dental hygienist you can expect an outstanding personalized treatment from beginning to end. I give you my word!
Services
In addition to traditional dental hygiene treatments we provide the following services:
Advanced Periodontal (gum) therapy
Enamel Remineralization Therapy
Nutritional Counseling
Myofunctional Therapy
To reduce anxiety and promote a sense of well being we utilize therapeutic healing aromas and offer nitrous oxide to ensure our patients have a positive experience.
At Santa Margarita Dental Group, we wish everyone a prosperous weekend and a happy Easter!
